Giving Back to Our Community

In 1974 the SPFFPA established the Burn Fund as a registered non-profit  charity. Our main purpose is to raise and distribute funds to help  Saskatchewan burn patients and their families with treatment, care and  rehabilitation. In the last five years, over 850 people were admitted to  Saskatchewan Hospitals with serious burn injuries. These numbers do not  include those people who were treated at Emergency Departments and  released. One hundred of these people had burn injuries so severe, they  were transported to specialized Burn Centres in Alberta and Manitoba for  treatment.

Whether we are sending a child to Burn Camp, educating Health Care  Professionals in Burn Care, easing the financial burden for patients who  have to travel out of province for treatment or assisting with patient  support groups, these initiatives have been at the heart of the SPFFPA’s  activities since the very beginning. Your support of this event will  help ensure that we can continue our mandate to help Saskatchewan burn  patients and their families.
